Tirzepatide
Overview
Tirzepatide is a synthetic peptide studied in metabolic research as a dual receptor agonist, activating both the GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) and GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) receptors. This dual mechanism is investigated for its combined effect on insulin secretion, glucagon regulation, gastric emptying and appetite signaling.
Its structure includes a C-20 fatty-diacid chain that promotes albumin binding and extends its plasma half-life to roughly 5 days, supporting once-weekly research protocols. Supplied as research-grade material for laboratory use only.
Research applications
- Dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor pharmacology and signaling
- Glucose homeostasis and insulin secretion studies
- Appetite and satiety modulation research
- Gastric emptying and GI motility research
- Obesity and metabolic disorder research models
- Comparison with single and triple incretin agonists

Supplied as a lyophilized powder. Store at 2–8 °C on receipt; protect from heat, light and moisture, and avoid excessive agitation. If reconstitution is required for laboratory work, use sterile technique — bacteriostatic water, or 0.6% acetic acid for low-solubility peptides. Protocols vary by research application.
