Overview
Cardiogen (tetrapeptide Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) is a synthetic short peptide bioregulator from the Khavinson series, originally developed from research on cardiac tissue extracts. Like other members of this peptide bioregulator class, it represents a four-amino acid sequence proposed to have tissue-specific gene-regulatory effects when introduced to cardiomyocytes.
Research on Cardiogen has investigated its potential to influence cardiomyocyte gene expression profiles, support cardiac tissue maintenance, and provide cardioprotective effects in models of age-related cardiac decline.
