Cartalax

Cartalax is a synthetic short peptide bioregulator (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) from the Khavinson series developed from research on cartilage and connective tissue. Despite sharing its sequence with Cardiogen, tissue-specific effects have been proposed based on the biological context in which these peptide bioregulators were identified and validated.

Research applications focus on chondrocyte gene expression modulation, extracellular matrix component synthesis (including type II collagen and aggrecan), and cartilage tissue maintenance in age-related degeneration models. Cartalax is studied as a research tool for examining whether short-sequence peptide bioregulators can selectively influence gene expression programs in a tissue-specific manner, as well as their potential applications in osteoarthritis and joint aging models.
