Snap-8
Topical cosmetic octapeptide — studied for relaxing expression contraction (SNARE-type).
Overview
Snap-8 (Acetyl Glutamyl Heptapeptide-3, SNAP-8) is a synthetic octapeptide analog of the N-terminal domain of SNAP-25 (synaptosomal-associated protein of 25 kDa), one of the three core proteins of the SNARE (Soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor Attachment protein REceptor) complex that mediates calcium-triggered neurotransmitter vesicle fusion at synaptic junctions.
By presenting a competing peptide that mirrors the SNAP-25 N-terminal domain, Snap-8 interferes with SNARE complex assembly, reducing the efficiency of acetylcholine-containing vesicle fusion at neuromuscular junctions. In cosmetic research, this translates to studied modulation of facial muscle contraction intensity. It has a longer chain than Argireline (Acetyl Hexapeptide-3) and is studied for potentially broader SNARE complex interference in neuromuscular junction pharmacology.

Supplied as a lyophilized powder. Store at 2–8 °C on receipt; protect from heat, light and moisture, and avoid excessive agitation. If reconstitution is required for laboratory work, use sterile technique — bacteriostatic water, or 0.6% acetic acid for low-solubility peptides. Protocols vary by research application.
