Thymosin Alpha-1
Immune modulator — boosts T-cell response and innate immunity.
Overview
Thymosin Alpha-1 (Tα1) is a 28-amino acid acetylated peptide naturally secreted by thymic epithelial cells that plays a central role in T-cell maturation, differentiation, and immune regulation. It acts on multiple pattern recognition receptors including Toll-like receptors TLR-2 and TLR-9, activating dendritic cells and monocytes to produce pro-immune cytokines.
Thymosin Alpha-1 is approved in numerous countries (under the brand name Zadaxin) for the treatment of hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and as an immunostimulant in immunocompromised patients, giving it one of the strongest clinical validation profiles of any research peptide. Its mechanisms are studied in the context of T-helper cell activation, NK cell function, antiviral defense, and age-related immune decline.
Research applications
- T-cell maturation, differentiation, and Th1/Th2 balance research
- TLR-2/TLR-9 innate immune signaling and dendritic cell activation
- NK cell function and cytotoxic immune response studies
- Antiviral immune response and hepatitis models
- Age-related immune senescence and immunosenescence research
- Regulatory T-cell modulation and autoimmunity models

Supplied as a lyophilized powder. Store at 2–8 °C on receipt; protect from heat, light and moisture, and avoid excessive agitation. If reconstitution is required for laboratory work, use sterile technique — bacteriostatic water, or 0.6% acetic acid for low-solubility peptides. Protocols vary by research application.
