KissPeptin-10
Trigger of the reproductive axis — fires the GnRH → LH/FSH cascade.
Overview
KissPeptin-10 (Kp-10) is the shortest bioactive fragment of the kisspeptin family — a group of peptide hormones encoded by the KISS1 gene that range from Kp-10 to Kp-54 in length. It acts as the endogenous ligand for the kisspeptin receptor (KISS1R, also called GPR54), a Gq/11-coupled receptor expressed in hypothalamic GnRH neurons and in peripheral reproductive tissues.
The kisspeptin/KISS1R system represents the primary gating mechanism controlling GnRH pulse secretion from the hypothalamus, effectively functioning as the "master switch" of reproductive physiology. Research applications include the study of GnRH pulse generation, puberty onset mechanisms, sex steroid negative/positive feedback, and gonadotropin secretion in normal and pathological reproductive states.

Supplied as a lyophilized powder. Store at 2–8 °C on receipt; protect from heat, light and moisture, and avoid excessive agitation. If reconstitution is required for laboratory work, use sterile technique — bacteriostatic water, or 0.6% acetic acid for low-solubility peptides. Protocols vary by research application.
